Reason number 315 why Colorado is Awesome is the Telluride Fire Festival. The western slope of Colorado will light up on January 14-18th for the 2nd annual Telluride Fire Festival where the featured entertainers will be literally catching fire.
Is there gold in ‘dem their hills?
Once a victorian mining town long, long ago, the charming and eclectic town of Telluride will bring gold of a different kind to present day – flames of gold fire. In addition to fire artistry, attendees can expect public fire installations, fire spinning public performances, DJ’s burning up the dance floor and the grand finale will be a Fire Ball with fire inspired cocktails and live entertainment.
Small town. Big fun.
If you are looking for the freshest, deepest powder to satisfy your downhill skiing and après ski fix, no doubt that Telluride’s ski resort would be considered among the hottest ski spots in the U.S. But don’t take my word for it, they were ranked the #1 Ski Resort in the annual Conde Nast Traveler‘s Reader’s Choice Survey in 2013, 2014 and 2015!
In addition to their ski culture and award winning restaurants, for more than 3 decades, Telluride has also had another interesting draw – it’s eclectic cultural festivals. What else do you expect in a town originally inhabited by a bunch of hippies? LOL.
Thus it should go without saying that the city of Telluride knows how to get their fun on and the inaugural year of the fire festival did not disappoint.
What’s to expect at the Telluride Fire Festival 2016
The festival will feature a series of dynamic and interactive events (free and paid). However, on each day of the festival there will be a free event to the public from 5 pm to 8 pm.
What is it?
The Telluride Fire Festival is an annual nonprofit 501c3 event that invites guests of all ages and performers of various types to join in on a festival filled with entertainment, shows, music, workshops, arts and of course plenty of fire!
Last year’s dynamic event took place on the public plaza in Mountain Village as well as the town’s historic Main Street. With the support of donations from the public and good people like you, the event was able to offer completely free outdoor and art workshops, making the event a huge success among all that were able to participate.
